Auction Policies, Fees, and Animal Transport Guidelines

At Altmann Poultry and Livestock Exchange Market, we strive to provide a professional, transparent, and efficient auction experience for all participants. The following policies outline important details regarding auction fees, animal welfare, and transport arrangements.

Animal Welfare, Euthanasia, and Disposal Fees

• While every effort is made to ensure animal safety and well-being, occasional stress or unforeseen health issues may occur. In the rare event of an animal’s death during the auction, a $5.00 disposal fee will apply.

• If an animal is in critical distress, injured, or determined to have no viable prognosis, humane euthanasia will be performed, with a $5.00 euthanasia and disposal fee charged.

Seller Buyback and Commission Fees

• Sellers who choose to bid on and repurchase their own animals during the auction will incur a 20% buyer’s commission fee, based on the final bid amount.

• This fee reflects the investment in advertising, marketing, staff, and operational resources that go into each sale. While we strive to achieve top market value for all animals, the commission fee is applicable regardless of the seller’s satisfaction with the final sale price.

Third-Party Transport Services

• Transportation for purchased livestock may be arranged through independent third-party providers. These transporters are not affiliated with or representatives of Altmann Poultry and Livestock Exchange Market.

• These providers are individuals or companies with whom we may have prior experience or recommendations. Buyers are responsible for arranging transport and negotiating fees directly with these providers prior to the sale.

Animal Removal Deadline and Penalty Fees

• All purchased animals must be removed from the premises by 5:00 PM on sale day (Saturday).

• Any animals remaining after this time will incur a $5.00 per head, per day penalty fee.

• If animals are not removed within four days, the purchase will be deemed null and void, and ownership of the animals will revert to Altmann Poultry and Livestock Exchange Market. In such cases, buyers forfeit their payment.

These policies are designed to ensure fairness, transparency, and the smooth operation of our auction while maintaining the highest standards of animal care and operational efficiency. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
